Installation Steps:

Turn off the water supply: Before beginning any plumbing installation, it's crucial to shut off the water supply to the area where you'll be working. Locate the main water valve and turn it clockwise to shut off the water flow.

Measure and cut the PEX tubing: Using a measuring tape, measure the length of PEX tubing needed to connect the desired locations. Mark the measurement on the tubing using a marker or pen. Then, using a PEX cutter or shears, cut the tubing at the marked point. Ensure that the cut is clean and straight.

Prepare the PEX tubing: After cutting the PEX tubing, use a deburring tool to remove any sharp edges and burrs from the cut ends. This step is crucial to ensure a proper fit and seal with the brass PEX press tee fittings.

Insert the PEX tubing into the fitting: Take one end of the PEX tubing and slide it into one of the ports on the brass PEX press tee fitting. Push the tubing firmly until it reaches the shoulder inside the fitting. Ensure that the tubing is fully inserted and seated securely.

Repeat for other connections: Following the same procedure, insert the other end of the PEX tubing into another port on the brass PEX press tee fitting. If you have multiple branch connections, repeat this step for each connection, ensuring that each tubing is properly inserted and seated in its respective port.

Use the PEX press tool:

Once all the connections are made, it's time to use the PEX press tool to secure the fittings. Position the jaws of the press tool over the crimping ring located on the fitting. Squeeze the handles of the press tool firmly to apply pressure to the ring. Hold the tool in place for a few seconds to allow the ring to compress and create a secure connection.

Test for leaks: After completing the installation, it's essential to test the system for any potential leaks. Turn on the water supply and visually inspect all the connections for signs of leakage. Additionally, you can use a pressure gauge to check for any pressure drops that might indicate a leak. If any leaks are detected, turn off the water supply and recheck the connections, ensuring that they are properly installed and crimped.

Restore the water supply: Once you're confident that there are no leaks, turn on the main water valve to restore the water supply to the area. Monitor the system for a brief period to ensure that everything is functioning correctly.

Following these steps will enable you to install brass PEX press tee fittings successfully. However, it's essential to refer to the manufacturer's instructions specific to the fittings you are using, as the installation process may vary slightly. If you have any doubts or difficulties during the installation, it's advisable to consult a professional plumber for guidance or assistance.
