Different plastic material does conduit material, what difference is there on performance? supplement
PE polyethylene
Polyethylene is a thermoplastic polymerized by ethylene, it is non-toxic, odorless, feel like wax, low temperature resistance, chemical stability is very excellent.
Polyethylene usually has low density polyethylene (LDPE), medium density polyethylene (MDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE), their applications are not the same. LDPE is usually used to produce lightweight products such as film and fiber, while pipe production involving injection molding is usually HDPE or MDPE.
PE pipe is usually black and is generally used for conveying cold water.
In the manufacture of pipes, polyethylene is poor in heat resistance, so in some of the more demanding occasions (such as heating system), it needs to be modified, so pe-RT and PE-X.
Pe-rt refers to heat-resistant polyethylene, which uses ethylene and octene copolymerization method, by controlling the number and distribution of side chain to get a unique molecular structure, to improve the heat resistance of PE.
Pe-x refers to crosslinked polyethylene, which transforms its linear macromolecular structure into a three-dimensional network structure, thus improving its heat resistance and creep resistance. Xlpe is not thermoplastic and can not be hot melted. Currently, pe-X has pe-XA, PE-XB and PE-XC. It is worth noting that a and B here do not refer to the product grade A or B, but the process methods used in the cross-linking reaction are different.
Pe-rt and PE-X are commonly used as floor heating pipes.
PVC polyvinyl chloride
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is one of the most widely used plastic products.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) heat and light stability, in more than 100 ℃ or the sun for a long time, can produce hydrochloric acid decomposition, and further automatic catalytic decomposition, cause discoloration and mechanical performance degradation, stabilizer must be added in the practical application in order to improve the stability of heat and light, the choice of stabilizer is the key to its quality and safety.
Of PVC soft hard cent, distinction depends on have without adding plasticizer, plasticizer is contained in soft PVC, it is used at the surface layer of floor, ceiling and leather commonly, physical mechanical performance is poorer.
Hard polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) without added plasticizer is commonly used to manufacture pipes. At present, the most widely used is drainage pipe and electrical casing. Pvc-u pipes are not usually joined by hot melt, but by adhesive.
The above describes some common plastics used to make pipes. In addition to these materials, there are other materials, but they are not widely used, the most important are these materials.
