Precautions for PPR pipe installation

1. PPR tube is afraid of ultraviolet rays

Users who have some knowledge of PPR pipes may know better. PPR pipes are placed outdoors for a long time, and they are hardly touched. They will become brittle in a few years. This is a characteristic of polypropylene materials, which cannot withstand ultraviolet radiation, and all accelerated aging under sun exposure is a very normal phenomenon.

2. PPR tube summer protection

Outdoor PPR pipes need only a little protection if they want to be durable. Generally, the measures that can be taken for PPR pipeline protection are as follows:

(1) Apply a layer of special anti-ultraviolet paint on the surface of the pipe, which can block ultraviolet rays

(2) There are black sunscreen foams on the market, also called thermal insulation cotton, which can be wrapped around water pipes, and can be bought in places where solar water heaters are generally sold.

(3) Lightweight aluminum foil tape can also be used to stick it outside the water pipe for a week, which has good viscosity and strong adhesion, and can also play an anti-aging effect.

3. PPR tube concealed processing

If conditions permit, it is best to bury the PPR pipeline. Because the PPR pipe has good corrosion resistance, it will not be corroded when buried in the ground, which can not only play the role of sun protection in summer, but also anti-freeze in winter. Therefore, the method of concealing the pipeline for home decoration does not need to worry about the problem of sun exposure, which is one of the best treatment methods at present.

4. How to connect ppr water pipes

(1) Sometimes a quick-connect joint is needed for emergency treatment. This kind of joint is not hot-melt, convenient and fast, and can be used for temporary use. If it is used for a long time, the hot-melt is relatively firm.

(2) Sometimes the connection between water pipes and electrical appliances or different types of pipes needs to be connected with wire parts. In this case, it should be sealed with raw material tapes.

(3) The linear expansion coefficient of the PP-R pipe is relatively large (0.15mm/m°C), so measures must be taken to prevent the expansion and deformation of the pipe when the pipe is exposed or not directly buried.
