Who doesn't want to take a shortcut to clean the toilet?
We all want to work smarter rather than harder, but we also want to make sure that what you use to clean the toilet can really clean it - and will not cause any damage to it!
Please read on, because we have debunked some myths about effective toilet cleaning techniques.
Myth 1: you can clean the toilet with soda water. A quick Google search will find a lot of articles about this so-called hacker attack - especially using Coca Cola - but we don't recommend it. Although the acid in soda water may remove some rust, don't pour a 2-liter bottle into the toilet unless you want it to become sticky.
Myth 2: The Magic Eraser in the toilet tank can remove stains. Magic erasers are very magical in removing stains and marks on the wall, and they can also remove soap residue very well. But they won't play their magic in your toilet tank. You need to actually pick them up and scrub them yourself to make them effective, so throwing them into the tank won't have any effect. It may even damage the flushing mechanism of the toilet.
Myth 3: you can put fabuloso into the toilet tank to keep the smell fresh. Last year, this hacker attack caused a sensation on tiktok. Fabuloso is a multi-purpose cleaner, famous for its fresh fragrance and ability to remove dirt, grease and dirt from all kinds of hard surfaces in the home. You can use this product to clean the toilet, just pour a small amount into the bowl and scrub it.
However, we do not recommend placing fabuloso or any other general purpose cleaner behind the toilet tank. Such cleaners may be corrosive and may degrade the performance of rubber gaskets and seals in the water tank. This may cause leakage and cause your toilet to run, which may increase your water bill. In addition, if your animal likes to drink water from the toilet occasionally, it is dangerous to let this chemical continuously flow through the toilet. They should not ingest these chemicals and should not be ingested.
Myth 4: you can use drano in the toilet. Most professional plumbers strongly recommend not using drano and any other such drain cleaning chemical solutions. Chemical reactions in toilets, drains, or pipes can become very hot, causing damage to the inner wall of the pipe.
In addition, drano is not always effective. If you have stagnant water, please use drano, but it has no effect, then you will have a fixture filled with dangerous chemicals. This makes it more difficult to remove obstacles.
So how should you clean your toilet?
Are there any effective cleaning techniques? yes! Although you can buy toilet cleaner at the grocery store, you can also use some common household products to make your toilet look new!
You can make your own hard water detergent by mixing the same amount of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the area to be cleaned and let it stand. Then scrub with a toilet brush or other brush. If you still can't remove the stains, try pouring the solution into a small bowl and adding baking soda to make a paste.
That should be done. After completion, rinse the area and then wipe it completely to prevent the stain from reappearing.
You can try another homemade solution: hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Just don't store this combination in a closed container, because carbon dioxide may accumulate and cause leakage or explosion.
